Botany Bay

Botany Bay

Singing too-rall, li-oo-rall, li-ad-di-ty,
Singing too-rall, li-oo-rall, li-ay,
Singing too-rall, li-oo-rall, li-ad-di-ty
For we're bound for Botany Bay

Farewell to Old England forever
Farewell to my rum culls as well
Farewell to the well known Old Bailee
Where I used for to cut such a swell

There's the captain as is our commandeer,
There's bo'sun and all the ship's crew
There's first and the second class passengers,
Knows what we poor convicts goes through.

'Taint leaving Old England we cares about,
'Taint 'cos we miss-spells wot we knows
But becos all we light finger'd gentry
Hops around with a log on our toes.

Oh, had I the wings of a turtle-dove!
I'd soar on my pinions so high,
Slap bang to the arms of my Polly love,
And in her sweet presence I'd die.

The Man from Snowy River

The Man from Snowy River

There was movement at the station, for
the word had passed around
That the colt from old Regret had got away,
And had joined the wild bush horses -- he was worth a thousand pound,
So all the cracks had gathered to the fray.
All the tried and noted riders from the stations near and far
Had mustered at the homestead overnight,
For the bushmen love hard riding where the wild bush horses are,
And the stock-horse snuffs the battle with delight.

Tiwi College

I want to tell you a story. A grim story, but a true one. In 1999 former senator Bob Collins was asked by the then Northern Territory government to prepare a report on Aboriginal secondary education in the Northern Territory. Among other things he found that there were more than 5000 Aboriginal secondary school aged kids who did not have access to a school! Put that situation into Melbourne or Sydney and you'll see how serious it is! 5000 kids without a school to go to! There would be an uproar. Questions would be asked in Parliament. Governments would fall.

But nothing happened in the Northern Territory! In fact, the situation is more difficult now than it was then! But a man named Andrew W., who was employed at Mararra Christian school in Darwin, read it and became
angry. Angry that such an injustice was being perpetrated in our country, and nothing was being done about it!

Invitation to Australian Cottage Industries.

We have noticed that there are many people around Australia making all sorts of stuff - and some of it is first class! But we also noticed that many of these small cottage industries are finding it tough to market their stuff.

In this day of mass produced cheap goods there are many Australians that are looking for real Aussie stuff, and would buy these things if they could just find them!

That's why 'This Is Australia.com.au'

We currently have five websites marketing Australian Cottage Industry products. There is another one coming in the next week, and another range of products soon after that.

This Is Australia.com.au is a rapidly growing marketplace for Australian Cottage Industry products.

If you are making genuine Australian stuff in an Australian Cottage Industry, and you would like it to be marketed through This Is Australia.com.au, please email me at

Willem @ ThisIsAustralia.com.au (just remove the spaces from the email address),

or phone me on 03 5244 4488.
